Home / Six fields, and what happens to them when

A gravel path between lavender beds leading to a closed plank door set in a high dry stone wall

What the form actually collects

Six fields, and what happens to them when you reserve a week

A number of nights, how many places you sleep, roughly when, a name, an address for the answer, and a message. That is the entire list.

Six fields do useful work: how many nights you want, how many places you are willing to sleep in, roughly when, what to call you, where to send the answer, and whatever else about the shape you want altered. A seventh sits out of sight and exists purely to trap software; anything appearing in it sends the message nowhere.

You will not be asked for a card number here, since nothing on these pages takes money. Nor for a passport number, a birth date, a national identifier, a medical detail or a home address. None of those has any part to play in choosing a week.

Who it reaches, and when it goes

What arrives is read by the office. For the one week you decide to hold, the name and a way of reaching you go to the supplier that runs it, because that supplier cannot hold anything without them. Changes you enquired about and then left alone go nowhere.

Enquiries sit here for two years so that the office can pick up the thread if you write again, and are then deleted. Ask sooner and yours goes sooner, with a written confirmation that it has.
